Where will BeeKeepers be Located in the Building?
BeeKeepers will occupy the cafetorium primarily. Other spaces the program will utilize are the field house, media center, and the 2nd grade corridor (periodically) throughout the day/week.
Drop Off & Pick Up and Parking Information:
All parents should park in the lot, no exceptions!
After care pick ups before or by 4:30 pm are arriving during end of school day/car rider traffic. You will not be permitted to enter the loop and exit your vehicle in the roundabout. Parents are permitted to use the visitor parking spaces in the front of the lot if available during both drop off and pick up.
Pulling in the loop is reserved for child drop offs and pick ups to and from school and clubs where drivers remain in their vehicles.
Lost or Forgotten Items:
For items left at BeeKeepers, we have our own lost and found. For any items left in classrooms or lockers BeeKeepers' staff cannot permit parents access to classrooms and the interior of the building. Please refer to building rules and policies set forth by building administration regarding school building access. Program students are given 15 minutes after program check-in after school to retrieve forgotten items from classrooms or lockers. In the event something cannot wait until the following or the next school day, parents should make arrangements with the school office for pick up, or ahead of time with BeeKeeper staff.
How Will My Middle School Student Get Transported to BeeKeepers?
Students attending BeeKeepers from the Middle School will be bused over and dropped off to BeeKeepers at the Elementary Building. There is a possibility that this route could range anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes in duration before drop off. The bus number is shared with those families at the beginning of each new school year.
Who Do I Notify of Change of Transportation At the End of the School Day?
Pikmykid allows families to update their dismissal plan for a given day, week or month. If your child is getting picked up early, taking the bus home, will be a car rider, etc. on a particular day and will not be attending BeeKeepers, you may also notify program leaders via email or by leaving a message on the program phone prior to the after care session. The Remind app is another acceptable form of communication to update about changes to your student's dismissal plan.
What Are the Hours of Operation?
Beekeepers operation days are Monday - Friday during scheduled school days. Before care hours are 6:45 - 8:45 a.m. After care hours are 3:40 - 6:00 p.m. Non-School Day hours of operation are 6:45 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
*Non-School Days are defined as no student days such as staff professional development days, Records Days, NEOEA Day and vacation camps such as Thanksgiving, winter and spring breaks.
What Happens if I Can't Arrive By 6:00 P.M. to Pick Up My Child?
The Beekeepers program closes at 6:00 p.m. If there is an accident in route to Beekeepers or severe weather causing delays during your commute, you must call by 5:45 p.m. to alert the staff that you will be late or that someone else is picking up. If the person picking up is not on the authorized pick up list, please notify program staff who is expected and have them bring a photo I.D. to pick up. A late fee will be charged for every minute after 6:00 p.m. If Beekeepers has not received a call from the parent or guardian to inform the staff that he/she will be late and the time reaches 6:15 p.m., Children’s Services may be called to assure your child's safety.
What Do I Need to do to Change My Schedule?
If you need to change your schedule you will log into your Arux account and submit the change request. You will receive an electronic notification if your request has been approved or denied. Denials can be due to lack of space or other ineligibility factors. Program leadership will clarify.
Note: Making changes in Pikmykid is not an accepted method of making schedule change requests in BeeKeepers. Until your request is appropriately submitted and you receive notification that the change(s) have been accepted, your invoice will not reflect such changes.
If My Child Will be Absent, Who do I Call?
If your student will be absent you should contact the Team Leader and/or Assistant Team Leader via email or on the program line. You may leave a message. A voicemail will suffice to report an absence. Calling will ensure the safety of your child and inform those whose care you entrust your student to each day. Parents/Guardians are advised to follow school protocols to report absences if their child will not be in attendance for any reason.
